Advisory was issued as a precaution because of low water pressure due to water main breaks and work to fix the problem.

Tekonsha remains under the Advisory to boil water

inhabitants of the village of TEKONSHA must continue to boil their water until it is notified that it secure something could happen Friday if all goes well, State officials said Wednesday.

Residents told Sunday by the Michigan Department of environmental quality to boil their water until further notice after tests taken last week came back positive for coliform bacteria, Associated Press reported.

Problem was discovered after routine sampling of hand and follow-up samples taken last Friday and Saturday, according to a statement from the Agency.

Additional samples taken Wednesday morning after the village's water system flushed with chlorine to kill bacteria, said Fred sellers, supervisor for the Division of resource management agency s Kalamazoo Office.

The first test Tuesday came back negative, which is a good thing, says seller, adding another negative test is required before a warning could be lifted. Wells village s also found will not be contaminated.
